Description:Anosmia is a state of loss or degradation of the olfactory tract disorders caused by the nose, head injuries and olfactory sulcus tumor (eg, meningioma, glioma frontal).Anosmia often go away though in certain cases occur permanently primarily associated with aging (age 60 years) or a brain tumor. Lost or reduced sense of smell can causepeople to lose interest in eating, causing weight loss, malnutrition or even depression.Symptoms:Loss of smell that is temporary or permanent.Treatment:Loss of smell can be cured, depending on the cause. Doctors usually give antibiotics totreat bacterial infections, or remove the barriers that obstruct the nasal passages. But if the loss of smell was because of age, are generally difficult to cure.
